At Fulham Cross Girls’ School we believe that our school uniform brings together our whole school community with the shared goal of empowering tomorrow’s women. We ask that all parents and carers support us in insisting on wearing full school uniform at all times, including on the journeys to and from school. For us, uniform and appearance at school are very important as they develop a shared identity, encourage taking pride in ourselves and ensure that the school maintains its positive community reputation and recognition.
Any Fulham Cross Girls’ School uniform items can be purchased in person from Sogans in Hammersmith or through their website.

Our uniform expectations are explained below:
Compulsory uniform items
The uniform items listed below are compulsory and must be worn every day unless students have PE.
School Blazer
School blazers must be worn to and from school and around school, they may be taken off in lessons when a teacher gives permission. Students may wear the school cardigan instead of their blazer in the Summer Term (from Easter until the summer break).
White Shirt
Shirts can be long or short sleeved and must be tucked in at all times. A white t-shirt may be worn under the blouse. Long sleeves under a short sleeve shirt and other colour t-shirts are not permitted.
Trousers
Trousers must be black, formal and tailored. Skinny trousers are not permitted. Official school trousers can be purchased from Sogans.
Skirts
Students are permitted to wear on the knee or full length skirts. Knee length skirts must be formal and pleated. Short and tight skirts are not permitted. Full length skirts must be formal. Skirts are not permitted to be stretchy or lycra. Official school skirts can be purchased from Sogans.
Socks/Tights
Students may wear plain black or flesh coloured tights. Socks must be plain black or plain white. No leggings, leg warmers or patterned tights are permitted.
School bag
All students in Year 7 and 8 must wear a FCGS school bag - either in pink or black.
All students are expected to bring a school bag to school every day. For students in Year 10 and 11 this should be a rucksack that is large enough to carry A4 size school books and revision guides.
Shoes
Students must wear black, formal and low-heeled shoes. They must be leather or leather look. Black trainers are not acceptable. Please see below for acceptable footwear:
Optional uniform items
School Tank Top or Cardigan
No other jumpers or cardigans are permitted to be worn to or from school or around the school building at any time.
Headscarf/Hijab
Plain black or plain white with no colours, stripes, checks, sparkles or designs.
Coat
Preferably a black coat should be worn over the blazer when the weather is cold. Coats are not permitted to be worn inside the school building.
Scarf, Gloves, Hat
All accessories should be black, white or pink.
White T-shirt or vest
A white T-shirt or vest may be worn under the shirt. Long-sleeved T-shirts must not be worn under short-sleeved shirts.
No other additional items of clothing are permitted to be added to the school uniform.
PE Uniform Items
From September 2022 all students are required to wear the new Fulham Cross Girls’ School PE kit listed below.
Students are expected to attend school in their PE kit on the days that they have PE lessons on their timetable. If they have an extracurricular PE club students must attend in their school uniform and change into their kit after school.

Students are permitted to wear on their bottom half:
Plain black tracksuit bottom (no logo)
Plain black leggings (no logo)
Plain black shorts (no logo)
Trainers and white socks
Jewellery, Makeup and Hair Regulations
Restrictions are for health and safety and security reasons and to encourage the focus on learning.
Students are permitted to wear:
One pair of gold or silver stud earrings (no hooped, coloured or sparkling earrings are permitted). One stud on each ear only
A watch
A single nose piercing is permitted with a clear nose stud. No rings are permitted for health and safety reasons. All nose piercings must be removed for PE lessons.
No other items of jewellery are permitted (i.e. no necklaces or bracelets).
No makeup, nail varnish, false eyelashes or false nails should be worn at any time. Students will be asked to remove all makeup and nail varnish upon arrival at school.
Hair accessories should be limited to plain black, white or pink ribbons, headbands or clips.
Students are not permitted to wear bandanas or durags.
No extremes of hair style are permitted. Hair colour must be natural.
Please be aware in the interest of raising standards and treating all students equally, non-regulation items will be confiscated. The school cannot be held responsible for any non-regulation items brought into school. Students wearing makeup or nail varnish will be asked to remove it. Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in school and will be confiscated. A parent/carer will then need to collect them from reception 24 hours after confiscation or on a Monday if the item is confiscated on a Friday. If the parent/carer is unable to collect the mobile phone a student may do so five working days after confiscation.
Equipment
Students are expected to bring a school bag to school every day. This should be a rucksack that is large enough to carry A4 size school books and revision guides.
All students are expected to have the following equipment every day:
A pencil case
At least two black pens
A green pen
A pencil
A ruler
A rubber
A calculator
School planner
School books for the day
A reading book
A locker key (and padlock for locker)
A water bottle
Please note that mobile phones are not permitted to be used on the school site at any time. Student mobile phones will be confiscated. Phones can be collected by a parent/carer 24 hours after confiscation or on a Monday if the phone was confiscated on a Friday. Phones can be collected by the student 5 days after confiscation.
