Fulham Cross Sixth Form Applications Now Open
Fulham Cross Girls’ School is committed to ensuring that every student makes the most progress in their academic studies as they are capable of. Nowhere is this more important than in their final GCSE examinations in Year 11. Consequently, significant support is provided to the students when, in Year 9, they begin the process of choosing their GCSE subjects.
There are some subjects which are compulsory:
English Language
English Literature
Maths
Science
Religious Studies.
Students then have three remaining choices. We ask all students to sit History or Geography and then to choose between a range of other subjects that are organised into blocks.
We also recommend that some students sit an additional GCSE in a Twilight teaching slot. For September 2025 we hope to offer Statistics, Health and Fitness and Computer Science.
We support students during this process by:
Having a ‘launch’ assembly with the Head of Year 9
Running a Year 9 Preferences and Parents’ Evening for families
Providing a Year 9 Preferences booklet for students and their families
Providing bespoke recommendations for each child on subjects that the school feels that they will do well in
Continuing 1-2-1 careers interviews throughout Year 10 and Year 11 to support clarifying students’ ambitions for the future
