Students who are considering taking a summer course outside of FISD must receive prior approval from their school counselor before enrolling. Approval is limited and based on specific academic needs. Courses taken without prior approval may not be accepted for credit.
We strongly encourage families to work directly with their counselor to determine the best plan for their student.

Small World Scholarship for Collin College
The Small World Scholarship is a full scholarship for two years covering tuition, books, and other related fees up to a total of $4,500 ($1,125 per semester) for students attending Collin College or Collin College Technical School. Please see application for additional criteria and qualifications. Deadline: Friday, May 1, 2026
A note to Denton County residents:
Collin did confirm that students in Denton County can apply for this scholarship and would be considered. They can’t guarantee the scholarship would cover the full cost of tuition (since it costs more for Denton County students to attend Collin) but it would still be cheaper to attend than what they would pay as a non-Collin resident. (There is also a possibility that more money could be awarded depending on availability of funds.)
