Thank you for attending our Dual Credit information meeting this morning. If you were not able to join, don’t worry, below we have linked the presentation and the recording for you to review.
Please note: If you have already completed a dual credit class and are already a dual credit student, you do not need to reapply to Collin or complete a new permission form. You will only notify your counselor in your one-on-one meeting, which courses you would like to take next year. This presentation and steps is for any one who is NEW TO DUAL CREDIT for the summer of 2026 or for Fall of the 2026-27 school year.
Next Steps:
If your student wants to take Dual Credit next year and has not previously taken a dual credit class, their first step is to Apply to Collin College by going to Applytexas.org and completing and application to Collin. Your application must be processed before moving forward. All students must have a CWID number before they can move on to next steps. Please take care of this first. The processing time for this is typically between 1-3 days.
Once you have your CWID your student can complete the FISD permission form. This will come to the students email first, once the counselor and student have placed the students in a dual credit course.
Students will sign the FISD permission slip sent via email
Once the student signs- the form will go to the parent to sign- parents must log in and sign this document
Review all remaining steps in the presentations!
Deadlines:
Application Deadline March 2 – we do not recommend waiting this long since FISD course registration choices must be completed by 2/12
FISD permission form- Due April 2
Collin Holds completed: Due April 2
Payment Deadline- May 15th
