The PTA is hosting our Annual Gift Card Collection to support our amazing teachers! From November 6 to December 12, students can donate $10 gift cards (up to 3 per student) to earn 2 service hours per card — up to 6 hours total. Gift cards can be from any store and should be dropped off in the front office. Please note: These hours cannot be used for NHS.
Beginning Monday, December 8th students can pick up an “Advanced/AP Change Form” in the counseling office. The form is only available in the counseling office and must be complete for any change to be considered. We can not accept emailed forms, late forms, or email requests to change.
This form must be completed and turned in no later an 4:30pm on December17th, 2025. All changes will take effect Tuesday, January 6th, 2026
Schedule changes will be made only to those who want to change levels of class, out of an advanced or AP, level down only. We are not able to make any other schedule changes or accept any other types of change requests. This process will require both Teacher and Parent signatures for approval. We can not accept late request. If you are dropping multiple classes, you will need to complete multiple forms.
11th/12th Grade ONLY: You may request Late Arrival, Early Release if you do not already have 2 on your schedule.
AP Seminar: You will lose your speech credit if you drop at semester, plan accordingly.
This is your last chance to drop a YEAR LONG AP course. There is not another chance to drop a year long AP class in the second semester, plan accordingly.
If you have paid for an AP exam for a year long course and drop the class you will have a $50 cancellation fee if you do not test. Students who have paid must request a refund by emailing strootk@friscoisd.org
Changing your schedule now may impact your lunch, your teachers, and your current class schedule. Not all changes will work with all schedules and may not be possible. Previous versions of your schedule will not be granted after a change has been made. We cannot undo changes. We are unable to predict in advance what your schedule will look like with the change. Speak with a counselor if you have questions or concerns about classes that can impact graduation.
It is hard to believe it is already time to start thinking about next year. We start the 4-year plan updates and course registration process, November 6th. Our end goal is to equip you and your student with the knowledge to review their 4-year plan and select appropriate classes for themselves. To best support them during this time, we strongly encourage you to set aside time to read through the material that is sent and complete any action items. Parents are a huge part of this process. We hope that you will review the material and attend our meetings to be informed along the way.

What to expect moving forward:
4-year Plan updates with Students:
RHS counselors will visit all RHS students through their social studies classes following the schedule below. The link to the presentation will be added to each student’s “Class of” canvas account. During this meeting students will review their 4-year plans in Career Plan in HAC, make updates to their course selections, and check their credits for graduation. We recommend that students and parents review the presentation, 4-year plans and course selections as a family to ensure everyone is aware of the choices being made. HAC will be open to make changes in Career Plan and the 4-year plans until December 19th, 2025, at 5pm.
Rising 12th (current 11th): November 6th and 7th (students who have dual credit social studies will be invited to attend an available class or come during advisory)

1 on 1 Course Verification Meetings
Career Plan will close on December 19th, 2025, and students will go on winter break. Over the break, the courses listed for next school year in Career Plan will roll over to become their course requests for the 2026-27 school year. Each student will receive a 1 on 1 meeting with their counselor beginning January 12th and ending February 6th. Students will review their selections, ensure they are meeting graduation requirements, and have a chance to meet 1 on 1 with their counselor to make any changes and ask any questions needed.
Changing Class Schedules / Updating Courses:
After students complete their 1 on 1 meeting with their counselor, they will have until February 12th to submit any changes after their meeting. All course
requests will be finalized on February 12th, 2025. Please read the disclaimer below about course changes.
We cannot stress enough the importance of checking your course requests in HAC, verifying they are what you want to take, and if not, making the necessary updates.
Per the academic guide:
Students pre-enroll in the spring semester for the upcoming school year, and the master schedule will be based on that information. Students will be able to see and change their course requests pending availability through February 12th by submitted a form to the counselor during this window. After this date, no course changes (including all CTE classes, core classes, and level changes) are allowed. Exceptions that will be allowed are athletics, band, choir, orchestra, color guard, drill team, gifted and talented, debate, and Academic Decathlon. These must be requested by the 7th school day of the year. Advanced, AP®, and International Baccalaureate (IB) classes may only be dropped at the 6-week mark of a course or at the end of the semester, and course availability may impact options.
