The Franklin High School robotics team competed at the regional competition held at Hopkinton High School, where it finished fourth against stiff competition. The team that had prepared for months moved into the semifinals, finishing just behind the top three teams.
The competition asked teams to design, build, and program a robot to complete timed tasks for points. This year was a major improvement from last season when Franklin was eliminated just two rounds in. Franklin entered multiple teams, including Team C, one of the school's competitive divisions.
According to Team C's very own Captain Rishab M., "The competition was tough, but we never gave up and didn't let anything get in our way." The team members had to stay after school and come in on weekends to perfect their robot and work out all the kinks.
Although the team did not qualify for states this round, they remain confident. âWeâll be back and ready to qualify with the experience we gained,â said Rushil Patdir of the team. They will go to their next competition in early February, Go Panthers!
