We’re sure that you’ve already heard about the Franklin High School Varsity Girls Volleyball team’s D1 state championship win in this year’s Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournament! However, this win comes with little surprise, as the team has been working hard all year.Â
The team’s 14-2 standing (Hockomock League) and 18 win streak, placing them third in the Hockomock League behind Oliver Ames and Attleboro, is proof of this effort. This record earned them the 5th seed in the tournament.Â

The final game of the tournament took place on Saturday, November 15 at Billerica High School against Newton North, 2nd seed, who had managed to win the three consecutive tournaments prior to this year’s. This win for the Panthers was the program’s first state win, marking a huge victory and accomplishment after a suspenseful five set game!
Huge congratulations to our Varsity Volleyball team on this historic win for the program, and we are looking forward to seeing the same success and drive next year and also for our upcoming winter sports! Â
