Sabrina Carpenter has blown up this year, with hits like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” topping charts and gaining billions of streams. It’s no coincidence that the Short n’ Sweet Tour was matched in popularity with sold-out shows across the globe. Luckily, I was able to grab a few in-demand tickets and make my way to the Hartford concert on Wednesday night, where I had more than just a sweet time.
Carpenter has been in the music industry for years, with Short n’ Sweet being her sixth studio album. However, due to her surge in popularity, she is headlining her first arena tour from Columbus, Ohio to Milan, Italy. The Short n’ Sweet Tour is about an hour and a half, not including her talented openers: Amaarae, Griff, and Declan McKenna.
The star of the show begins her performance with a bang by singing her third single: “Taste”. She continues the concert with fun bops from Short n’ Sweet like “Juno” and “Bed Chem”, slow ballads such as “Lie to Girls” and “Don’t Smile”, and even songs from her previous album Emails I Can’t Send Fwd: including “Tornado Warnings”, “Feather”, and “Nonsense”.

However, Carpenter is not just a singer. She shows off her dancing and performing abilities with choreographed moves, props, costume changes, and hilarious background graphics.
One of my favorite parts of the show was the surprise cover song. Carpenter and her team of background vocalists and dancers spun a bottle on stage and sang whatever song the bottle landed on. In Hartford, I was lucky enough to hear a beautiful cover of “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer.
The excitement and joy were evident in every fan present and I think we all agree that the concert was a blast, I recommend anyone with good taste to try to see a Sabrina Carpenter concert or listen to her newest album, Short n’ Sweet.
