On Thursday, January 8th, the Hockomock League led it's first double dual track meet of the season at the TRACK at new balance in Boston, Massachusetts. The Franklin girls team skillfully won against both teams, the boys doing the same.Â
Victoria Courtright-Lim, senior, stole the show, winning the mile by 10 seconds, with a shocking 5:34 seconds. Senior Peter Gubka is experiencing similar success, winning after winning in the 55-meter dash, even setting the current school record.Â
Although this sport is individual on the track, the Franklin team works together both on and off the track. Each runner works hard during practice to reach goals: a main goal being to win the Hockomock League.Â
An important factor to win is to have support. As the season progresses, we are looking for more students to come to the meets. Get tickets on the Panther app or at the door of meets if you want to come. Don't forget to sign up for rewards in the Panther app and check in at events you do attend to be eligible for cool rewards!Â
Make sure to keep in tune with Pantherbook as we cover further Winter Track meets. We expect to see lots of success for both teams this season!
