WHY I WROTE IT:

The Southside vs Northside football game has been the highlight for many students at both schools. In 2023, Southside beat their cross town rivals for the first time in eight years. I wrote this story because it was a major victory for all Southside students, but it was also my favorite memory of high school. So many emotions were captured during this win, which I documented in my writing.

WHY I WROTE IT:

Placing in fourth at state, the competition cheer team didn't know if they would be able to compete in the National Championship in Orlando. After lots of fundraising, the team was able to go and ended up with a first place National Championship. I wrote this story to document the first win for Southside cheerleaders and recap their season of hard work. 

WHY I WROTE IT:

As a member of the swim team, I knew how impactful the renovations of the city pool were. I wrote this story to cover the last season swimmers had in the "dome" before the facility was completely renovated.
