Placement Exams

UW SYSTEM PLACEMENT TESTING

Most University of Wisconsin System campuses require students to take placement tests. The majority of students will take the exams the spring before their freshman year during the Regional Testing Program. Regional Testing registration begins in February each year, and various testing dates are offered throughout spring and summer. Regional Testing Links:

UW Oshkosh CAPP REQUIRED MATH PLACEMENT

Any student who wishes to take a CAPP math class and gain college credit through MPTC or UW-O (College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Calculus 2 and AP Stats), must pass a placement exam per the University of Wisconsin System requirement. This is a UW System requirement. You will not be able to gain college credit through UW-Oshkosh without this placement exam, unless you have already successfully completed a college math course. If you are unsure, it is our recommendation that you take the placement exam. The placement exam is typically given during late March.

If your child typically receives accommodations for testing, please contact your case manager by early March (accommodations have to be requested by the student through the case manager, in the same process of the UW placement exam). *For exact date refer to permission slip.

ALL students in Algebra II will receive a permission slip from their math teacher as well as any student in subsequent courses who have not previously enrolled in a dual credit math course.
