Academic + Career Planning (ACP): An ongoing process to actively engage students to develop an understanding of themselves, to create a vision of their future, develop individual SMART goals, and prepare a plan to achieve those goals. ACP is intended to equip students and their families with the tools necessary to make more informed choices about postsecondary education and training as it leads to careers.
The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has an overall vision for every student to graduate high school college and be career ready. This means students should be:
Competent both socially and emotionally
Strong critical thinkers able to collaborate and solve real-world problems
Able to persevere when things aren't going quite their way.
When put together, it's all about making them productive adults with satisfying careers!
