The tutoring program at FHS is intended to connect our high school students to classrooms and students at the elementary, middle and high school levels. We have some truly amazing students, that have the ability to positively impact our student body and this is an avenue to do just that! We know that our students can help create a quality learning environment which will help cultivate success. If you are interested in tutoring you will choose this as a course option when you are going through the scheduling process. You will be required to fill out an application (see link above). This application will be used to pair you with a teacher in the district.
Tutoring is a great option if you are interested in pursuing a person focused field such as education, social work, psychology, medicine, etc.
Tutoring-Course Description:
Completion of the Tutoring/Student Aide application process and consent of an instructor is required (requires own transportation). Student must meet GPA, attendance, and behavior expectations. The Tutor/Student Aide program provides students with the opportunity to assist teachers with various tasks related to classroom activities and help assist students with learning within. This opportunity is only available during school hours, and within the Fond du Lac Elementary Schools, Middle Schools and High School. The opportunities for the student will be dependent on the teacher that has agreed to have the Tutor/Student Aide. Tutors/Student Aides will apply 21st Century Skills of Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity to assist teachers with classroom preparation, classroom organization, laboratory set-up, and assisting in the learning process.
