What is going on in the week ahead:

Based on my observations and interactions last week, the children's interest this week include:

  • Colors/mixing colors
  • Pouring
  • Robots
  • Dice

Several fine motor activities are available as well as sorting at a couple of our play areas this week. I am excited to see how the children react to the "Give the guy a haircut" table.

Paint is available for 2 different activities: First, the children will be invited to paint on the bubbles, and then make prints. On another table, they will have the chance to paint their names. At the light table, I have put black inside a ziploc baggie over a colored sheet of paper≥ They will be able to explore the colors underneath. In our sensory bin, children will be invited to rake, measure, dig and pour the kernals.

There are 2 new puppets added to our puppet play and in the kitchen a variety of coloured kitchen materials are available for play.

We have read the book "The Mitten" and will continue our exploration of the animals through an interactive version of the story this week. Books have been changed around in the reading corner and a music listening centre with a book near the musical instruments has been added.
