Rosa Parks was born on February 4th, 1913. Rosa Parks Day is observed on her birthday in California and Missouri every year. This is a day to honor the life, achievements and contributions of one of the most significant actors in the Civil Rights Movement. Frederick Douglass (c. 1818–1895) was a prominent African American abolitionist, writer, and social reformer. Born into slavery in Maryland, he escaped from bondage in 1838 and subsequently became a leading advocate for the abolition of slavery and the rights of African Americans. Douglass was a powerful orator and writer, known for his eloquent speeches and autobiographical works. He continued to advocate for equality and human rights until his death in 1895. Throughout his life, Douglass was involved in various social and political causes, including women's suffrage and advocating for equal rights for all. Learn more about his life and legacy here!
