Overview: In this lesson the students will work as a group to create a tape sculpture. As a group they will assign roles and create a unique artwork. After completion the students will place it around the school.
Goals:Learning Objectives: Students will consider emotion communicated in a still figure’s posture and stance. Students will describe and evaluate influences and trends of nontraditional media used by contemporary artists. Students will reshape a specific location and consider the ephemeral qualities of a site specific installation Students will understand how a sense of recognition or familiarity with the surroundings can influence the relationship between artist and viewer, and how context can change meaning when sculpture is “off the gallery pedestal” and out in the real world.
