Masks from the Past Project 

Overview- In this lesson the students will work as a group to research a time period that used masks and then they will make a plaster mask using the information that they learned. Each student will create their own masks that will be inspired by the past. 

Goals-How were masks used in history? How can they be used in the present or future? 

Standards-3PE Connect science and technology with the development of art in various cultures.

5PR Collaborate to create a thematic work that combines visual art with other arts disciplines. 

3RE Identify examples of visual culture and discuss how visual art is used to shape individual and social behavior
