Scheduling
SCHEDULING FOR 2024-25: Please read carefully for information about class schedules for the 2024-25 school year, including the timeline for requesting changes:
Schedules will be available for viewing in PowerSchool at 8:00AM on August 1st.
Students will have the opportunity to make schedule change requests from August 1st (8:00AM) through August 10th (8:00AM). A Google form will be made available to students via email at 8:00AM on August 1st. Counselors will process these requests beginning on August 10th. Due to the high volume of messages, please allow additional time for a response. Counselors will respond to schedule change requests made using the Google form via email between August 12th and August 16th.
Priority will be given to those students who are requesting schedule changes based on the following:
A class period is unscheduled (no class to attend)
There is a repeated course that cannot be retaken
There is a class with a prerequisite that has not yet been met
The student is missing a graduation requirement that must be met
The student has the same class multiple times in his/her schedule
There is a class in the schedule that was not a primary or alternate choice made by the student
The Google form for schedule change requests will close on August 10th (8:00AM). All schedule change requests MUST be made using the Google form. Counselors will not be taking schedule change requests after August 10th unless there is an error in the schedule that requires a change.
We cannot accommodate requests for specific teachers.
If a student selected any Honors or Advanced Placement (AP) course, the deadline for dropping Honors and AP classes was May 1, 2024. AP courses will not be removed from schedules after May 1, 2024. This includes any AP courses that only fall in the second semester of the 2024-25 school year.
Are you a student who has not yet fulfilled a grad requirement, such as PE, Health, or a class that meets the Visual, Performing, & Applied Arts (VPAA) requirement? Classes that meet these requirements are noted in the Course Description Guide. You may check your graduation progress in PowerSchool, or talk to your counselor to review your status.
Are you planning to be eligible to participate in a NCAA D1 or D2 college sport? Courses that are NCAA approved can be found on the Counseling Office website. You also should meet with your counselor to complete an NCAA audit if you have not already done so.
FHE counselors visited students in their classes between Jan. 26th and Feb. 7th. Each student received a Course Selection form, and these forms were to be completed and signed by a family member and returned to counselors. Families were invited to review the slideshow that will be presented to students in their classes. This slideshow has a number of helpful links to other resources and information.
