Fetch is a marketplace for self-service truck rentals where customers can rent a truck from local owners. It’s contactless (a device is installed in the vehicle that is not visible to the customers). Very passive income for the partner. Our Customer Support Team manages all the reservations and customers’ accounts, Fetch also processes the payments, and the owner's responsibility is to maintain their vehicle (inspect the vehicle, change tires, clean the vehicle, etc).
What's the difference between a customer and a partner?
A customer reserves the vehicle on fetchtruck.com and a partner owns the vehicle that the customer is renting.
Below you'll find a diagram of how Fetch works:
There are two devices that Fetch offers to partners: a PRO device and a Quick Start device.
PRO Device
GPS
Calculates gas levels and mileage
Customers can lock and unlock the vehicle from their phone (the vehicle will automatically unlock itself once the payments go through). Authorized users can also lock and unlock the vehicle from the dashboard. Partners can also lock and unlock the vehicle from their phone or dashboard.
Fetch and the partner can mobilize and immobilize the vehicle
Keys are inside the glovebox (some vehicles may have a lockbox inside of the glovebox as well)

Here is a 2-minute video explaining how Fetch works: https://fetchtruck.wistia.com/medias/dcnq57l82j
Please note that the photo upload process has changed since this video was made. An updated upload video has been added to the Verification section in the wiki. We no longer ask customers to upload a selfie of them holding their driver's license. We will only ask for a selfie of them holding their driver's license for the following reasons:
Stripe Identity Status: unverified (the back of the driver's license did not scan or the selfie that the customer submitted was blurry). Verification Department will contact the customer.
Customer is sending in their photos instead of uploading them (you can find the macro to send to the customer by going to the dashboard, sending a message to the customer, and selecting "Selfie holding DL"). ALWAYS inform the customer to send in a selfie of them holding their driver's license if they are not able to or do not wish to upload their photos through their Fetch account. Be sure to inform the customer to try not to cover any license data, for example: expiration date and date of birth.
When a customer makes a reservation, the system automatically sends them reminders to finish creating their account and to upload their photos. It will also ask them to upload their proof of insurance. Oftentimes, customers might wait until the last minute to upload their documents and will proceed to call the Support line and ask how long will it take for their account to get approved. It usually does not take too long, but it would be in the customer's favor to upload their photos as soon as the reservation is made.
The link above can be sent to customers via email/Zendesk (if they do not have a Fetch account) or via text (if they do have a Fetch account). We can also advise customers to see the video on our website fetchtruck.com where it says "How Fetch Works See Video". For informational calls (how does it all work?, where are the keys?, do I go inside of Home Depot or Hertz?), advise the customer to watch the quick 2-minute video on our website for a visual of the reservation process, verification process, check-in process, and the vehicle return process.
