Communication is 🗝️
Dear Families,
The 2020-21 School Year has officially begun! Though it isn't the same as being in-person, it is inspiring and hopeful to see so many smiling faces over Zoom. We're writing to share some updates with you on our return to the building later this fall. If you have questions about our plan, please visit our family portal or reach out to your school's administration.
As you may know, the DOE has delayed their start of school until Monday, September 21. Our in-person start date remains TENTATIVELY October 5th. We may push it back and will let you know next week. Additionally, they are requiring random, monthly testing administered to 10 to 20% of a school's population. We're still working with the DOE to understand how this impacts us and how it will change our plans.
We've added two more Q&A sessions for families the week of September 14, one in English and the other in Haitian Creole. If you are interested in attending either session, please sign up here. (Nou ajoute de lòt sesyon Q&A pou fanmi yo, youn an anglè e lòt la an kreyòl ayisyen. Si ou enterese patisipe nan swa sesyon, tanpri enskri isit la.)
Lastly, while the DOE has yet to release their calendar, we want to share a TENTATIVE calendar for the fall to help families plan. Please see the calendar below for holidays and other school related events. Please note, your school will add additional asynchronous days to your child's schedule in the weeks leading up to opening the buildings to give teachers time to prepare classrooms. Your school will share more details about asynchronous work and expectations.
In partnership,
The Exceed Lower Team
