The purpose of the NYSESLAT is to annually assess the English language proficiency level of ELLs/MLLs enrolled in Grades K–12 in New York State schools. The test gives the state, schools, parents, and teachers important information about the English language development of ELLs/MLLs. These tests will be administered by our ELL teacher Ms. Juliana Griego.
The Fountas and Pinnell (F&P) assessment is used to identify the instructional and independent reading levels of scholars. This allows educators to create targeted instruction to improve scholar reading achievement. The independent reading level allows scholars to have access to books they can read independently to improve their reading achievement.
Math IAs are a form of assessment used to track the progress of foundational math skills in each respective grade. This allows teachers to hone in on conceptual misunderstandings and craft differentiated lessons. All Math IAs are Common Core-aligned and focus on the most important conceptual understandings needed to be successful in the next grade.

Welcome to Term 4!!! We are excited to continue collaborating with you to ensure that scholars are learning and growing. Last Month our scholars took an ELA IA which measured where they are performing with Reading and Writing standards. This month they will have an opportunity to take a Math IA, to assess where they are performing with Math standards. It is important that scholars are present in school each day to ensure that they are learning important skills and standards. Please continue to check Google Classroom to ensure that your scholar is completing all independent work. It is important that they complete all assignments as this work reinforces what they have learned in class. We are excited to continue learning and growing this term. Thank you for your continued partnership.
