Do I have the most up-to-date testing information on my child?
What programs or resources can I use at home to best support my child's learning?
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
The Fountas and Pinnell (F&P) assessment is used to identify the instructional and independent reading levels of scholars. This allows educators to create targeted instruction to improve scholar reading achievement. The independent reading level allows scholars to have access to books they can read independently to improve their reading achievement.
The ELA i‑Ready assessment is designed to measure specific grade-level standards in ELA. In response to an alarming report that highlighted the decreasing number of black men applying to medical school, we began Black Men In White Coats in 2013. We have worked closely with medical schools, high schools, and physicians to provide inspiration and mentorship to our youth who may be interested in healthcare as a profession. This February, we will continue this work by bringing students (boys & girls 3rd grade and above), educators, parents, physicians, and community leaders together for a full day summit! Over the course of the week, students will engage in hands-on activities and network with healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds. The goal is to inspire and show them that though not many, there are people who look like them in this field, and if we can do it, they can do it. Click here to register for the youth summit.
