Spring is in the air and so too is change. Unbelievably we will be soon entering Term 4 on April 12. Some of our students will be joining in person on that day as well for our Hybrid Launch. It is through our partnerships with families that we have been able to support our students. Let's continue to collaborate so that we can RISE Up!
All students can practice math fast facts at least 15 minutes a day. This month in math students will:
Kinder: Add and subtract numbers up to 10 and then up to 50.
First grade: Measuring the length of objects and comparing the two lengths.
Second Grade: Add and subtract up to 1,000 using expanded notation.
Digital Math Resources to support at home:
All Students! Read at home everyday for at least 30 minutes. Family members can ask the Wh- Questions: Who, What, When, Where, and Why.
Kindergarten: Practice tricky words with the word lists that were given out at the last materials pick up.
First Grade: Writing opinion sentences and forming paragraphs.
Second Grade: Reading comprehension and putting words in accurate alphabetical order.

Virtual Field Trips
Our 5th grade scholars had an opportunity to conduct a virtual trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Students had a chance to Explore the Tropical Pavilion. They engaged in journaling the plant and animal adaptations of a Rain Forest.
There will be more Virtual Field Trips happening this Spring! Be on the lookout for information from classroom teachers!
