November Focus

12th Grade Focus

Getting through the marathon of College Application Month can be strenuous!!! It's not time for a break just yet. Seniors should focus on getting several college applications submitted prior to Thanksgiving Break to have the best chance at hearing back before winter break. Students should continue checking email regularly as this is the primary means colleges will use to request additional or missing information!

ICAP Focus:

  • Complete/Update Game Plan Survey

  • Apply to College

  • Complete FAFSA

11th Grade Focus

As we head into the Spring semester, Juniors will want to start digging into their ICAP so they can come up with a list of "must-haves" and "absolutely-nots" for their college search. These can included the programs offered, size of the campus, cost, location, etc. ICAP is meant to help students learn more about their personalities and what their preferences are for their future work environment (quiet, outside, computer/digital, lots of people, etc).

ICAP Focus:

  • Complete Do What You Are survey

  • Create and/or update resume

10th Grade Focus

Sophomores are still focusing on making sure their ICAP is complete at every turn! This quarter, the focus is on narrowing down a pool of careers that might fit the student's interests, passions, and skills.

ICAP Focus:

  • Complete Career Interest Profiler

  • Add one career to list of favorites

  • Create and/or update resume

9th Grade Focus

Counselors are still checking in with Freshman about how their first semester of high school is going and what support they may need to continue to be successful. On Thursdays, EHS offers tutoring support in the Library from 3:25-3:45. Also, peer tutors are available during Seminar on Thursdays. Students can ask their teacher for a purple peer tutoring pass during seminar.
