First thing's first, make it a priority to get to know Lexie! Their office is in the middle of the counselor's office - They can help with all College/After HS plans and steps you need help with!

Consider taking the SAT again to increase your score!

App Days, Rep Visits, FAFSA help
Make a Common App Account
Go to Common App tab for instructions
Start filling out the common app application

OCTOBER
FAFSA opens on OCTOBER 1!
Gather all of your financial materials in preparation for the FAFSA day
Come see Lexie if you have questions about financial aid
Required for some scholarships!!
Start applying for scholarships!
Daniels Fund is a full ride scholarship you may be eligible based on SAT scores
Some institutional scholarships open as early as November!
Free Application Day- October 17th-19th, 2024!
Submit applications to any of the 32 public Colorado public college and universities for FREE on this day
Have Lexie or a counselor check your application before submitting
NOVEMBER
Submit your applications for at least 2 schools before Thanksgiving break
The earlier you submit your applications, the sooner you'll find out if you've been accepted (might even get some before winter break!)
DECEMBER
REFRESH.
Fall semester is a whirlwind! Take some time to refresh and get ready for the home stretch
Check email and keep up on scholarships
Acceptances may come through email!
SPRING SEMESTER
JANUARY
College decisions start coming in!
Keep track of where you've been accepted
Come up with plan B and C in case you don't get your first choice
Check your email DAILY (multiple times, ideally)
Colleges primarily communicate via email, not using regular mail.
Don't miss a deadline just because you didn't check your email
FEBRUARY
Keep those grades up!
Colleges CAN revoke an acceptance if you fail classes your senior year!
Don't stumble across the finish line
Scholarships, scholarships, scholarships!!!
Keep up those applications! Students get the most money from the schools they apply to
School scholarships are due in March
MARCH
Financial Aid Verification
You might need to send in additional information to verify your income. No big deal... see Lexie for help! :)
APRIL
Make a decision by May 1
Communicate with colleges you've decided NOT to attend
MAY
Send your final transcripts to the college of your choice!
Meet with Lexie to get your final transcripts sent!
Sign up for orientation at the school you're attending
Orientation happens over the summer
Meet with your new college advisor during orientation to get your classes
