How do I calculate my GPA?

First semester is quickly coming to an end. Final grades will be posted by the end of the day Friday December 21st and will go the official high school transcript. Transcripts are the permanent record of coursework and grades at Englewood High School. Keeping a high grade point average is important for many reasons. Higher grades help to boost confidence, open the door to college and scholarships, lower car insurance and employers care about grades.

How do you calculate GPA? Each grade is assigned a point value. Add up the points that match the grades and divide by the number of classes. See grid to the right:

Any academic core class (Math, Science Social Studies and/or English) not receiving a passing grade of D or higher will require summer school/credit recovery. Counselors will be reaching out to students and families in the spring regarding recovery of credit.
