I am a fourth-generation Colorado native. I grew up in Evergreen, Colorado, and graduated from Evergreen High School and Warren Tech. My initial career passion was culinary arts and the hospitality industry. I went to Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. I returned to Colorado after graduating and worked in Admissions for Johnson & Wales helping high school students understand the college application and scholarship process. Through that experience, I discovered my love for working with high school students and I became a teacher in the Culinary Arts Program at Warren Tech. I came to Englewood in 2013 and had the pleasure of starting the culinary arts program. After teaching culinary arts for 15 years, I started my degree in counseling. I have loved transitioning into this new role.
I am married with two great kids, a daughter in 9th grade and a son in 7th. They keep us busy with football, flag football, and basketball. We enjoy camping, fishing, and biking in our beautiful state!
I earned my Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology from the University of Denver.
School Psychologist, Colorado Department of Education
This is my fourth year as a school psychologist. I grew up in Iowa and have lived in many different places, the most recent being Alaska, before moving to Colorado.
I am passionate about education and have had the opportunity to experience schools in many roles, from custodian to after-school mentor to substitute teacher. My favorite part of being a school psychologist is supporting students as they discover their passions, grow in confidence, and ask thoughtful questions that challenge us to see the world in new ways. Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, skiing, reading, knitting, and running.
