School Counselor
My career has taken me through teaching, travel, counseling, and coaching, giving me the opportunity to work with students in a variety of settings and to experience many different parts of the world.
I began my career teaching middle school Spanish for 1½ years. I then spent another 1½ years in Indianapolis teaching high school Spanish and middle school computers. In March 1995, I joined United Airlines as a flight attendant, motivated by a desire to travel and see the world. I spent 10 years as a flight attendant, an experience that allowed me to meet people from diverse backgrounds and gain a broader perspective on different cultures and communities.
After completing my master's degree in School Counseling from San Francisco State University, I returned to education as a school counselor. I was hired by Jefferson High School, just outside San Francisco, where I worked for five years. During my time there, I served as Counseling Department Chair, coached varsity softball and volleyball, and was a class advisor. These roles allowed me to support students both academically and personally while also becoming deeply involved in their extracurricular lives.
In 2007, I moved to Denver to be closer to family. I worked at Heritage High School for two years before joining Englewood High School in August 2010. I have continued to value the opportunity to work with students, families, and colleagues and to contribute to a supportive school community.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. My hobbies include playing golf and tennis, gardening, and cooking. I especially enjoy the balance these activities bring to my life and the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

I am a fourth-generation Colorado native. I grew up in Evergreen, Colorado, and graduated from Evergreen High School and Warren Tech. My initial career passion was culinary arts and the hospitality industry. I went to Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. I returned to Colorado after graduating and worked in Admissions for Johnson & Wales helping high school students understand the college application and scholarship process. Through that experience, I discovered my love for working with high school students and I became a teacher in the Culinary Arts Program at Warren Tech. I came to Englewood in 2013 and had the pleasure of starting the culinary arts program. After teaching culinary arts for 15 years, I started my degree in counseling. I have loved transitioning into this new role.
I am married with two great kids, a daughter in 9th grade and a son in 7th. They keep us busy with football, flag football, and basketball. We enjoy camping, fishing, and biking in our beautiful state!
