Types of Tuition
IN-STATE TUITION
In-State Tuition is typically lower for students who qualify, as an incentive to encourage Colorado Residents to take advantage of Colorado colleges and universities.
You may be granted In-State tuition if you have lived in Colorado for 12 months prior to your first day of college and you meet the following criteria:
Payment of Colorado Income tax
Possession of a Colorado Drivers Lisence
Colorado Motor Vehicle Registration
Voter Registration
Permanent employment
Ownership of a residential property that is your primary residence
Graduation from a Colorado High School
Continued Residence in Colorado other than just throughout the academic year.
If under 23, classification for in-state tuition is based upon your parent/legal guardian.
NON-RESIDENT TUITION
Typically higher than in-state tuition. Private colleges (colleges not funded by the state) typically don't offer a different tuition rate in regards to residency status. Students who are classified as DACA/undocumented will have to pay the non-resident tuition rate unless he or she applies for ASSET at the college they decide to go to (See DACA/Undocumented Resources tab for more information about ASSET).
