3D Fabrication Society works with digital modeling tools to create files that can be transformed into 3D plastic or resin models.  The club focuses on using the 3D SLA and FDM printers to accomplish a host of community improvement projects from in the classroom to helping provide prosthetic devices around the world.

Art Club is an organization for students with a common interest in art. It provides both art and non-art students with art opportunities.  Students taking art classes are provided additional time to work on projects or explore new ideas and materials. Art Club also provides students who do not have room in their schedule for art with an opportunity to explore their art interests.  Art Club meetings consist of open studio time where students can work in the art room and participate in art-related field trips. Art Club members regularly contribute their art skills and talents to help with school and community events and services.

The Battle of the Books program is a statewide competition designed to promote a love of reading among students. It encourages them to read a variety of books spanning a broad range of topics and genres, and remember information about their plots, characters, and settings.  In February of each year, a team of four students from participating Wisconsin high schools square off against each other in an online trivia competition to see who can answer the most questions correctly. It is a fun, academic-based competition that has been successful in school districts throughout the state in encouraging students to read.

The book club meets once a month to discuss a student selected book. Our main goals are to promote reading for enrichment and provide  an opportunity for rich conversations about a variety of books from different genres. 


Best Buddies Mrs. Giudice guidicea@elmbrookschools.org

The mission of Best Buddies is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships. People with disabilities are often excluded within the school environment because of their differences.  This club seeks to end social isolation by establishing connections with one-to-one friendships with non-disabled peers. These friendships help increase self-esteem, confidence, and the abilities of people with and without disabilities. In addition, this club is important because it seeks out school-wide inclusion.

The Brookfield Central Black Student Union (BSU) is a student-led organization that celebrates diversity and fosters learning about important topics surrounding race, culture and heritage. In a safe and accepting environment, BSU provides students of all races an ongoing opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of BIPOC culture and history. The ultimate focus of BSU is to inspire, motivate and elevate all students to a higher social, intellectual, and moral level that further enhances their educational experiences at BCHS and beyond.

The Lancer Chess Team competes in local high school leagues and statewide competitions. The chess club meets once a month on Thursdays, beginning 9/21, the 3rd Thursday of every month! Competition commences in late October and ending with the State Championships in March. We also want to compete at Nationals in April. Chinese Club promotes cultural appreciation and understanding of the Chinese traditions while encouraging students to be involved in the local Chinese community.  Students will learn about the culture and language.  Activities include Chinese calligraphy, Taichi, Chinese New Year Celebration, classic movies and field trips

Class Council is an organization that develops leadership in members of the class and supports fundraising efforts for the class to spend towards social events and giving back. Class officers are in charge of raising money through fundraising to help offset the cost of various events such as prom, homecoming, senior banquet, etc.  We also try to get students involved with community events or fundraisers for needy organizations.

Culture Club is a place to connect and exchange information about different cultures around the world.  Our club celebrates diversity in various ways all throughout the school year through activities like International Education Week in the fall and Elmbrook Heritagefest in the spring.  Culture Club also supports causes that impact our international communities in and around the Elmbrook School District.  Click here to go to Culture Club Page.

The BC Theater and Event Production Club mission is simple: Inspire students, transform audiences, provide skills for future success. The Event Production Club focuses on providing students with opportunities to develop their technical theater skills through live performances and event production producing high-quality productions.  BC Event Production Club will offer students opportunities within BC Theater productions (Sharon Lynne Wilson Center and BC Black Box) as well as other various on-site and off-site events through other Elmbrook and other theater affiliations.  Event productions will include: light design and usage (spotlight, LED lights, light cues, back lighting, up lighting, light board operation, DMX usage, fog machine, etc.), pipe and drape design and usage, portable stage design and usage, sound design and usage (speakers, corded and cordless mics, choir mics, laptop and iPad sound, stage monitors, XLR cable design and implementation, sound board operation), multimedia design and projection (PPT, video, front projections, rear projection, etc.).

This non-funded club is a local branch of a national organization that seeks to challenge coaches and athletes to explore the relationship between athletics and Christianity.  FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging athletes to make a difference by fostering spiritual growth.

Film Club is a club for students who are interested in watching, analyzing and discussing movies.  The club is aimed at introducing students to a history of film, different genres of film and the basic elements of a film.

Forensics is an activity designed to increase and improve students abilities and comfort levels with public speaking. Being able to increase one’s comfort level in public speaking will positively prepare students for speaking and leadership within the classroom and beyond.

To expose kids to aspects of Francophone culture that we are not able to cover in the curriculum and to make these activities available to kids who do not take French but are interested in the culture. Activities include film, cuisine, art, etc.

The Game Development Club provides opportunities for students to explore interests in game development and other computer science topics.

The Gardening Club is to promote an interest in gardening, in the conservation of our natural resources, and in civic beautification, to foster artistic use of plant material, and to share our gardening knowledge. The club also aims to give students opportunities to interact with our passion for gardening and environmental responsibility.

The Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a student-run organization that unites LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities. GSA serves as a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth in high school and a vehicle for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice.  All students are welcome!

German Club meets once or twice a month to learn about German culture and promote German language around BC and Brookfield. Activities include movie nights, friendly sport competitions, cooking/eating, and more. The club is open to all BC students; you don't have to be in German class.

Hope Squad is a school-based peer-to-peer support program that empowers selected students to take action and help foster a culture of care where all students feel safe and a genuine sense of belonging.  Hope Squad members are trained to recognize if they or their pees are at risk for suicide as well as how to encourage peers to seek help from a trusted adult. Members also engage in activities that focus on suicide awareness and prevention, and work to reduce stigmas around mental health and suicide. **Students in Hope Squad are selected via peer nomination process.

HOSA Future Health Professionals Club teaches what it is like to be in a health occupation.  HOSA is a mix between DECA and Science Olympiad for health professions.  This club is a great opportunity for those pursuing a career in health/medicine.

Latin Club is Brookfield Central’s local chapter of the Wisconsin Junior Classical League.  Its purpose is to promote the classics (Greek, Latin, ancient history) and to have fun.  Latin Club regularly plays certamen (a team-style Jeopardy! game).  Club members also have the option of attending both Latin Convention and Latin Day.

Math Club is a social club welcome to all students who share an interest in and an appreciation for mathematics. The club meets twice a month after school to socialize, eat snacks, problem solve as a group, and gain exposure to different types of mathematics.  The club also participates in math competitions.

Medlife strives to raise awareness about families struggling with healthcare issues and also help improve the medical inequality within local healthcare institutions around Brookfield. Members should uphold the responsibilities of attending meetings and organized events, along with an honest desire to help those in need.

Mock trials are utilized to provide students with simulated legal experience while also helping them develop research, argument, improvisational and public speaking skills. Although many students who participate enjoy the legal process, most students join so they can develop their argument or acting skills as well as their confidence in presenting to groups in classrooms and actual courtrooms. The National Honor Society encourages excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The Brookfield Central chapter is composed of juniors and seniors who have excelled as students and as leaders in their school and community.

PAWS is a club that focuses on students who love animals. This club meets monthly to participate in activities that support local animal-related organizations; it may include volunteering, fundraising, or listening to guest speakers.

A Red Cross Club is an extension of a local Red Cross region or Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) Station where you’ll be able to serve the community. Along with training and leadership development opportunities, you can choose mission-related activities in your community, while delivering lifesaving services of the Red Cross. There are opportunities for projects that can save hundreds of lives from blood drives to disaster preparedness education and donation collection.

REDgen student group works together to advocate for the mental health and wellness of their student body. Students meet regularly with staff advisors to reflect on their own wellness and create activities and events to impact school culture. They focus on reducing stigma around mental health, redefining success, building resiliency and promoting balance.  Additionally, the local REDgen organization supports the student group and provides additional community education opportunities.

Red Kettle Club provides an opportunity for middle and high school students to partner with the Salvation Army and serve their communities to support the Salvation Army’s mission by volunteering their time and sponsoring various events throughout the school year to help those in need.

FIRST Robotics is a unique varsity sport of the mind where participants play with the pros and learn from them.  Our team works to design and build a robot to compete in the Regional, and hopefully National, FIRST competitions.  FIRST instills real-world professional experience and lifelong skills such as teamwork, gracious professionalism, and "coopertition" (a combination of cooperation/competition).  There's a job for everyone in this exceptionally fun learning environment.  Meetings are weekly during the pre-season (Oct-Dec) and 3-4 times a week during the build/competition season.  Team website is www.beastrobotics.com

FIRST Tech Challenge teams (up to 15 team members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. There are three FIRST Tech Challenge teams between both BCHS and BEHS.

The National Science Bowl (NSB) is a highly competitive science education and academic event among teams of high school and middle school students who compete in a fast-paced verbal forum to solve technical problems and answer questions in all branches of science and math.  These teams face-off in a fast-paced question-and-answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy, and math.The Department of Energy (DOE) created the National Science Bowl in 1991 to encourage students to excel in mathematics and science and to pursue careers in these fields. The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science manages the National Science Bowl®, and sponsors the NSB finals competition in Washington DC in April.

Science Olympiad began as a grassroots assembly of science teachers is now one of the premiere science competitions in the nation, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges to nearly 6,400 teams in fifty states. Science Olympiad's ever-changing event lineup provides a variety of career choices and exposure to practicing scientists and mentors.

Ski and Snowboard club is an opportunity for students, freshman - senior, to learn to ski or snowboard. If you are already an experienced skier or snowboarder you will head right out to the hills and enjoy a night with your friends! The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish. The Student must have a minimum of a 3.25 GPA in all classes and a 3.5 GPA in all Spanish classes after completing 5 semesters of the language.  Eligible students will receive a letter inviting them to apply from the club advisors.  SHH has a service emphasis, and all students must complete a set number of service hours before being inducted.  Members must maintain their status by continuing to contribute to the society in a variety of service opportunities to promote language learning and to build connections with the larger community.

The Society of Women Engineers (http://SWE.org) is the world’s largest advocate and catalyst for change for women in engineering and technology. SWENext is a way for students through the age of 18 to become part of the SWE engineering and technology community. (https://swe.org/outreach/swenext/) The goal for the Elmbrook Schools' SWE Next Club is to improve the interest of female students of our school district in Engineering as a career. The club is open to all middle school and high school female students of Elmbrook school district, and will provide access to mentors and other benefits provided by SWE.

The Elmbrook Speedskating club is committed to allowing students to experience and enjoy the sport of short and long track speedskating. Training is held in the Pettit National Ice Center. Participants will have opportunities to race. No skating experience is required to join!

The Brookfield Central Student Council exists to promote and sustain positive school spirit through activities and events, while fostering student leadership and giving a voice to the students of BCHS. Annually Student Council sponsoring student activities including Homecoming, Spring Fling and the End of the Year Picnic.  Student Council also engages the greater Brookfield community through the Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Dinner, Dodgeball Tournament, and by sponsoring children through the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha. Additionally, Student Council coordinates Inter-Club Council and Student Senate, both of which are school wide organizations that give voice to the entire student body.

The Brookfield Central Theater Department is dedicated to providing opportunities and educational experiences for students in the fields of theater performing arts, theater education, technical theater, and theater production.  The Theater Department produces a full-length musical at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the arts in the fall, and one act, three act and Studio Show productions in the BCHS Black Box Theater in the spring.  Along with these productions, the Theater Department is dedicated to examining social justice and the human condition through the lens of theater, and providing a meaningful theater learning experience for Brookfield Central students, staff, and community.

The BCHS Trapshooting Club is part of the Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League.  The club is a competitive team and welcomes participants of all skill levels, grades 6-12. The club's season runs March 2024-June 2024.

The BCHS Water Club works to create awareness of water issues and opportunities, promote water business opportunities, and promote water career opportunities.  The charter works to provide educational opportunities by sharing the water club database, organizing activities and events related to water related research and new developments, connect students to firms and educational institutions, and provide information about meetings in the area sponsored by water firms and the water council.

Students are given a hands-on opportunity to work on, program, and run a radio station. The station runs an adult album alternative format and streams worldwide at www.elmbrookradio.com

Students in the Yearbook Club support the editors and other students who are enrolled in the Yearbook course. The editors of yearbook, put in countless hours; many spend every study hall and lunch hour and many hours after school creating the book.
