What is Student Council responsible for?
HOMECOMING
Student Council sends out the theme choices for the student body to choose from for homecoming. Last year, our theme was Disco! To raise school spirit for the dance Student Council decorates the school, plans an assembly, decides on spirit days, puts together homecoming court (including the election of king and queen at the football game), and more!
Homecoming this year is September 20th at 8:00 pm in the AUX gym! Be sure to get your tickets using the link in our Instagram bio!
TRUNK OR TREAT
Leading up to Halloween, the Student Council organizes Trunk or Treat, an event hosted by clubs throughout Brookfield Central. Athletic teams, organizations, police and fire departments, and more participate by having a trunk with candy, which local elementary students can safely trick-or-treat at. Would you be interested in having a trunk this year? Check our Instagram page for the most up-to-date information!
THANKSGIVING DINNER
Thanksgiving Dinner provides the elderly members of our community with camaraderie during the holidays. Students at Brookfield Central work together to serve a delicious Thanksgiving meal and engage in conversation with the attendees. This event brings a multitude of smiles to our community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to host it.
CHRISTMAS CLEARING COUNCIL
The Christmas Clearing Council is an annual fundraiser at Brookfield Central, where the Student Council collects donations to help support the purchase of gifts for students who would otherwise not receive any during the holidays. Last year, we exceeded our $3,000 goal and were able to provide gifts to 17 children across five different families. Any donation goes a long way, so be sure to save your spare change throughout the year in your backpack so that when Christmas Clearing Council comes, you can give back with us!
ALL SCHOOL PICNIC
One of the most eagerly awaited events of the year, the all-school picnic is an incredible opportunity for students to celebrate all the hard work they have put into their schoolwork throughout the year and take some time to enjoy each other's company. We have various vendors come to Brookfield Central, including Chick-fil-A, Maui Wowi, Street Za, and more, to offer students a truly special event. Beyond the food, there are also games all throughout the picnic, and all at Central cherish this event.
SPRING FLING
Our end-of-school-year dance is a great way to kick off the start of summer and is eagerly anticipated by students across all grade levels. Last year's theme was "Teen Beach Movie," and students enjoyed dressing as bikers or surfers, as well as participating in our spirit days leading up to the dance. We encourage everyone to attend this amazing dance, as it is truly a memorable experience every single year.
