As we get closer to the move to Gmail and a single Google login this summer, it’s important to start preparing for the transition, especially when it comes to third-party websites and apps that use the “Sign in with Google” feature.
Many of us have used this quick sign-in option for apps like Canva, Trello, or various educational websites. If you’ve used your @edu.sturgeon.ab.ca email address to sign in this way, that connection may stop working once your account changes to @sturgeon.ab.ca.
What You Need to Do:
Review any apps or services where you use “Sign in with Google”
If your @edu.sturgeon.ab.ca address is tied to the account:
Update it to your new @sturgeon.ab.ca address if possible
OR create a new account using the updated email
Add a backup sign-in method (such as a username/password) if the app allows it
These small changes now will help ensure uninterrupted access when we make the switch in July.
Thank you for taking the time to get ready—we know this kind of change requires a bit of effort, but we’re here to help along the way!
