According to the Learning and Technology Policy Framework (2013, Alberta Education), access to technology is a necessary piece to student-centred learning.  Thus, since 2015 different technologies have been made available for Sturgeon teachers and students to access with the purposes of exploration, investigation, engagement and play. 

Over the past years, energy has been building.  We are seeing BYOD, maker spaces, design challenges, coding and robotics in our schools.  We now have three schools with dedicated STEAM academies, we offer CISCO Networking courses, and our STEAM and robotics courses in High School are coming online.  Students are engaged, eager to take risks, make mistakes, and try again.

Many agencies in Alberta and BC, along with other School Divisions, offer and curate resources. Try these out before just searching online. These are more likely to align with Alberta curriculum.
