The Secondary School Library is located on the second floor of the Grand Bâtiment and is open from Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The library offers a space for group work and a quiet space for reading and studying.
Our collection consists of more than 25,000 books mainly in English and French, as well as access to several online databases.
Students, staff and parents are welcome to borrow documents.

Consideration for others is an essential requirement for all users of the Library. This means that users need to agree to the following:
- To respect resources and equipment.
- To keep voice levels compatible with an atmosphere for serious study.
- To put your mobile phone on silent mode. Calls are prohibited.
- To respond politely and co-operatively to requests or instructions from those responsible for the running of the Library.
- To bring back materials by the date due and to respond promptly to reminders.
- To set a good example of appropriate behaviour to other students.
- Not to bring food or drink into the Library.
- To draw to the attention of the staff any instances of abuse.

Library Resources - Loans & Returns
- Students can borrow items for a period of two weeks. Loans can be renewed and documents can be reserved.
- Fines are 20 centimes per school day per overdue book. The fines are limited to a maximum of chf 5 per item.
- The library gives a grace period of twenty school days. No overdue fine will be charged on material returned during this period. Once fines pass the grace period, overdue fines are calculated from the due date.
- Should a student have one or more item(s) overdue by twenty school days, no further loans will be permitted until there has been a return, renewal or payment for replacement of the item(s).
- A borrower who loses a library document or fails to return it will be charged the replacement cost of the item.
- Headphones are required to listen to audio documents on the computer.
- Computer games are not allowed.
- Unless your assignment requires group work, there should be only one person per workstation.
Laptops - Loans & Returns
Students are responsible for bringing their charged laptop to all classes, every day.
- Library laptops are available on a first come, first served basis. They may not be reserved in advance.
- During class, when a student comes to borrow a laptop, they lose valuable lesson time. Therefore, students’ Mentors will be contacted if a student borrows a library laptop more than 5 times per term.
- Library laptops must be returned on the same day that they are borrowed - by 4:45 at the latest.
- No fine is given when students fail to return a library laptop at the end of the school day. However, laptop loans will be suspended for 1 term if students fail to return the library laptop on more than 3 occasions.
- Students may not borrow a library laptop for another user.
- Under no circumstances should a student leave a library laptop unattended.
- The library is not responsible for a lost or stolen laptop. In the event of theft or loss, the price of the laptop must be refunded.
- A student failing to comply with the above rules will be treated as in breach of School discipline and be liable to sanctions imposed by the Library staff.
