All parents and teachers are members of the Parent Teacher Association. The PTA supports the School community in many practical ways and encourages communication between the School and parents. It has an office next door to the Infirmary in La Ferme, which is manned by parent volunteers during the school day.
It is an independent body which has a valuable social function as well as a role in disseminating information and acting as a sounding board. Its role is not to act as a pressure group or to try and intervene in individual cases, but to refer parents to the relevant teacher, mentor or Year Head. It can also offer helpful advice to families who have recently arrived in Geneva.
At least once a term, the PTA has a meeting with the Principal to discuss matters concerning the Secondary School.
The PTA organizes fund-raising activities (most notably the annual Kermesse), and publishes a regular bulletin containing information regarding forthcoming events etc.
It also publishes an annual Directory of students’ and parents’ contact details.
