ROBERT SHAFER

ROBERT B. SHAFER (1907-1974) taught history, health, physical education and coached sports at Delanson Union Free High School beginning in 1929. Later, he became Vice-Principal and Principal. 

Mr. Shafer was instrumental in the consolidation of the current make up of Duanesburg Central School District and the construction of Duanesburg Elementary School.

Robert B. Shafer Memorial Park, which is next to the Elementary School, is named in his honor.
