A lifelong resident of Duanesburg, Fred founded General Drywall in 1974 and over the next 33 years the company went on to build many hospitals, schools, housing developments, state offices, and regional arenas all over New York State. Known as "The General", Fred was a true entrepreneur. He possessed a unique business acumen and was highly respected in the industry. He was a 20 year member of Northeastern Subcontractor Association (NESCA). He was a past president of Eastern Contractors Association and had a reputation as a highly skilled negotiator. He was heavily involved in the Duanesburg community. He was a founding member of the Duanesburg Ambulance Corp., the Duanesburg Business Association, an active member of the Elks and 4-H Clubs.
