CLASS OF 1932 | BUSINESSMAN AND POLITICIAN

An orphan, John Telow's childhood was spent in various foster homes where he suffered abuse. At age 14, he was placed with a family who treated him kindly and sent him to school Delanson. He joined the National Guard, where he eventually earned enough money to attend Northeastern University. After earning a degree in business administration, he managed WT Grant stores in the northeast. He eventually made his way to Maine, where he became active in politics. Mr. Telow eventually won election to the Maine State Legislature, where he served from 1980 until 1990. He was active in the United Way, the Salvation Army, and the Elks, the Masons,
