However, it also requires parental consent for a student to participate in these SHAC-recommended and board-approved lessons. Students without parental/guardian consent will not receive the instruction. The consent forms will be sent to parents via Actionaly.

Our school is implementing a whole-school transformational process called Leader in Me, which teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Each year, our campus conducts surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and needed growth in our school. For us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, we are asking all full-time staff members, parents/guardians, and students in Grade 4 and Grade 5 to participate.
Parent Participation:
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that will be available through the web link below. The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household.
The survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and his or her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child's experiences as you answer questions about his or her growth.
Please complete the survey linked here by: April 10, 2026, the window opens up on March 23, 2026.
Children learn best when they are curious and asking questions. When your child wonders about something, how something works, why something happens, or what something means, take a moment to explore the answer together. You might look it up in a book, search for information together, or even try a simple experiment at home.
Encouraging questions like “Why do you think that happens?” or “What do you think will happen next?” helps children develop critical thinking skills and confidence in their ideas. When kids see that their curiosity is valued, they become more engaged learners both at home and at school.
Small conversations sparked by curiosity can turn everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences.

Dripping Springs will be hosting a FIRST in Texas District Competition at DSHS with 30 teams from the surrounding area competing on April 3rd and 4th. This event is free and open to the public. These competitions are a great opportunity for students interested in STEM to see how these FIRST robotics students took on the season's challenge of REBUILT to reimagine the past while designing, building and programming industrial sized robots.
Founder's Day is a huge annual community event. It takes a lot of supporting hands to help this event to run smoothly. Volunteers that work 4+ hours will receive a t-shirt, a VIP meal ticket and drink voucher.
