Howdy, Tiger Families!
Welcome to February at Cypress Springs! As we move into a new month, our students are continuing to show focus, kindness, and a strong commitment to learning. We’re excited for the opportunities February brings and look forward to building on the great momentum we’ve started this year.
This week was Counselor's Appreciation Week!!!! We LOVE Mrs. McLaurin and Mrs. Jacobs! They truly are two AMAZING humans. They support our students through BIG feelings, tough moments, and everyday wins with grace and heart. Please join me in thanking them for being a steady presence, a listening ear, and such an important part of our Cypress Family.
A huge shout-out to Betsy Herrington, Molly Lucas, Meagan Maddux, Kerstin Kemper, Mandy Mack, and the PTA for supporting our Cypress Springs Talent Show!!! AND to these incredible parents for all of their support Erik Flores and Lara Hyde!!!! We were so proud of our student performers and their bravery up on stage!!!! Way to go, Cypress!
Spring Picture Day and Class Pictures will take place on February 10th and 11th. Look for more information from your child's teacher!
Drop-off! We have had increasing tardiness in the mornings. Please help us out by having students ready to go to school early in the morning and ready to get out of the car at drop-off. We could also use some help at drop-off! If you have a few extra minutes, we'd love your help with opening car doors! Let us know!
Save-the-Date! Our Leadership Day is coming up on February 20th from 8am-10am. Join us to see Leader in Me in action at CSES! This year, we will be highlighting our Leadership Roles, our Student Lighthouse Team, and our HEART for Service. RSVP Here.
Please have your students wear Hearts! Pink! or Red!!!
Please note this is an opportunity to see what is happening throughout the campus; it is not an open house for your child's classroom. You may visit your child's class in the 30-minute come-and-go classroom visit time; however, we encourage those who attend to visit as many classrooms/grade levels as possible.
Grades 3-5 will be participating in the FitnessGram during PE January 12th- April 15th. See email dated 2/7/2026 for more information and email Coach Overby with any questions.

Learning can be challenging, especially when new skills take time. Encourage your child to keep going when something feels hard by asking questions like, “What could you try next?” or “What helped you last time?” Praising effort and persistence builds confidence and helps children develop a positive mindset toward learning.
