Howdy Tiger Families!
Happy October! Our students continue to amaze us with their energy, effort, and excitement for learning. It’s a joy to see them grow each day. Thank you for being such strong partners in their success!
The DSISD Gifted & Talented referral link will be live and open on the DSISD GT Website from October 1-November 14. During this window, parents may complete the referral form for their student to be tested for the DSISD Gifted & Talented Program. As a reminder, DSISD does not hold whole grade level GT screeners and tests by parent referral only. For more details on the DSISD GT program, please visit the DSISD GT website.
NWEA MAP: In Dripping Springs ISD, educators use the NWEA® MAP® Growth™ assessments to inform instruction and monitor student progress toward learning goals. We have made the reports from your student’s beginning of year NWEA® MAP® assessment available to you in Skyward Family Access. The report includes a letter of explanation, a sample report, your child’s individual results, and how these scores are interpreted. Here are directions to access the report in Skyward Family Access.
CSE's Neighborhood Garden: Our school’s fall garden is coming to life, and our students are so excited to get their hands in the soil and watch their plants grow. To make this possible, we need a little extra help! We’re currently looking for donations of garden soil to fill our garden beds. If you’re able to pick up a bag (or two!) of soil on your next trip to the store, it would be such a huge help to our garden program. Additionally, if you have any connections to local landscaping companies, nurseries, or garden centers that might be willing to donate soil, compost, or mulch, we’d love to hear about it! Every bag donated helps our students learn, grow, and enjoy the experience of caring for a living garden. Thank you for supporting our school garden and helping our kids “dig in” to hands-on learning!
DSISD's Counseling Department has put together 4 virtual Lunch and Learn opportunities. Check out this flyer for details on dates, topics, and how to register.

Beginning with the End in Mind is all about goal setting. At the start of the week, help your child set a small goal—like finishing a book, practicing math facts, or remembering to pack their backpack. Celebrate successes and talk about what helped them reach their goal. This builds responsibility and confidence. Read more about this month's Habit of the Month below!
