Progress Reporting

Parents/caregivers of students at the Wycallis Primary Center will receive periodic reports that provide detailed information about their child’s progress towards the achievement of grade–level standards and benchmarks in all subject areas, with particular emphasis on reading and mathematics. They are posted at the end of a unit or nine-week interval, offer a detailed description of each child’s development and individual growth and progress relative to the appropriate grade-level skills, concepts, and expectations. In addition, they may be used to inform individualized instructional decisions.

These reports are posted on the CSIU student data management system. A link can be found on the Dallas School District website to create a Parent Portal Account to be able to view these reports On-Line.

Extra Help

We are committed to the success of each Wycallis student; failure is not an option.

Whenever a student is not meeting grade level benchmarks in reading or math according to Pennsylvania Assessment tests or local assessments such as DIBELS for reading fluency, we establish an action plan. The plan will be developed in consultation with the parents or caregivers and could include one or more of the following:

· Corrective Reading, Comprehension Plus, Wilson, or other research-based interventions

· Title 1 Reading Support

· Learning Support

· Conference with the parents or caregivers

School personnel and parents must give children the opportunity to progress by scheduling extra instruction and practice in small group settings.
