There are three inductions most apprentices should have.
A workplace induction - This should be carried out by the employer and should introduce all the information the apprentice must know in order to work safely in their new environment.
A work-based induction - This is carried out by the assessor and should introduce the elements of the standard. There is an induction checklist that helps to ensure all the right information has been given to the apprentice.
Assessors should record this as a session in the learning plan of Smart assessor, making sure the session is entitled Induction and uploading a scanned copy or photo of the induction checklist to the session.
The College induction - Even if the apprentice doesn't need to visit a college site, there is still loads of information contained in this online induction. Access can be gained by this link: https://sites.google.com/don.ac.uk/pre-induction/home
It is accessible by apprentices from across the group.
There is a lots of information behind each orange box, from how apprentices can access their college email, to downloading the Smart assessor app and keeping safe at the college.
