This unit covers basic characteristics of fish and identification of Iowa fish species.
Objectives
Students will become familiar with the general characteristics of a fish, especially those external features necessary for species identification.
Students will become acquainted with the senses fish possess and how those senses function.
Students will become acquainted with the general characteristics of the fish families found in Iowa.
Students will be able to identify fish species common to their region of the state.
