Fish Iowa! angler education and outreach includes teaching materials, educator training, and general fishing education events and resources. Training sessions (one-on-one) and workshops for the Basic Spincasting Module are available to Iowa educators and youth leaders. Teaching Modules & Units

Basic Spincasting module - combines physical education, health, biology, geography, and family and consumer sciences into a program that focuses on fishing. Designed for use in formal settings with middle school through senior high students, it easily adapts to non-formal programs such as camps, scout outings, etc. Fish Iowa! works with students with all levels of abilities.

Fly Fishing Basics unit - designed to introduce the angler to the basics of fly-fishing. Basic equipment, assembly and the overhead cast are presented. Fish Iowa! Fly Fishing Basics is designed to be an extension of the Fish Iowa! Basic Spincasting module

Ice Fishing unit - introduces the angler to the winter sport of ice fishing. Preparation, ice safety, equipment, and angling strategies for an ice fishing trip to a frozen Iowa pond or lake are discussed.

Fishing Program Information - For events, clinics or other fishing programs provided to the public; Hosts use this form to provide information about your program, so we can share via our calendars, social media channels, and through other partners. Note: NOT for tournaments or derbies.

Annual fishing equipment use - For Fish Iowa! equipment loaner sites to report of use of equipment from January 1 - December 31 for the most recent calendar year. Please email edinfo@dnr.iowa.gov with any questions about completing the report.
