ARCHERY

(NASP) The program promotes student education and participation in the lifelong sport of Archery. The program's focus is to provide International style target archery training in physical education classes, for grades 4-12. 

BOATING

Boater education is a mandatory program for any person 12-17 years old, who will operate a motorboat over 10 horsepower or personal watercraft(PWC). It introduces students to the skills needed to navigate different situations, environments and water bodies. 

FISHING

Fish Iowa! angler education and outreach includes teaching materials, educator training, and general fishing education events and resources.



HUNTING

Hunter education is a mandatory program that is designed to introduce students to several life-long skills that are important to the many different types of outdoor recreational opportunities. 

PADDLING


The Iowa DNR Rivers Program offers training for the general public and naturalists. This includes risk management, hazard safety, how to lead a group and rescue procedures.





SHOOTING SPORTS

Youth shooting sports programs exist for those interested in shotgun sports (Scholastic Clay Target Program) and also those interested in pistol and rifle shooting (Scholastic Action Shooting Program).
