This unit is designed to acquaint the beginning angler with the history of fishing, where to fish, basic fishing regulations, and the necessary safety precautions associated with the sport.
Objectives
Students will become familiar with fishing from an historical perspective.
Students will become familiar with Iowa’s aquatic resources, including habitat types found in those waters and their importance.
Students will become familiar with basic fishing regulations and individual angler responsibilities to the resource and other recreationists.
Students will become familiar with safety issues related to the sport of fishing.
