We are so grateful to be one of the Lasallian Family members and the Brothers have been helping a lot to make this study tour happen. Brother Nicholas and Brother Collin took care of our accommodation as they understood the challenge our students were facing, and agreed to let us stay at the La Salle House. We also discovered that Brother Collin is a great cook because he literally took care of our daily breakfast every day! He got all of us, 20 students plus our school principal Mr. Tso and three other teachers, well-fed! Brother Paolo was supposed to be "stationed" in Hong Kong but he also came to Singapore to make sure everything go smoothly before our arrival. He welcomed us at the La Salle House at the night of our arrival day and introduced us to the Brothers. Then he went back to the St. Joseph's Institution to get the beginning of the school visit ready. Everyone of the Brothers involved has been so helpful and we sincerely appreciate for everything!
Our students would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Brothers. Check this out here!
We were staying at Lasalle House
St. Joseph's Institution is one of the hosting schools that support our teachers and students during our stay.
They focus on nurturing the students to learn how to learn and to learn how to live, so that students can be empowered to grow into persons of integrity and persons for others. The school operate based on the values which are universal among the Lasallian Schools: Faith as the foundation, Service as the way, and Community as the support.
The school has a leading mission school that nurtures their students to be future-ready through learning for life, living with integrity and inspiring through service. They are enable youth in a Lasallian community to learn how to learn and to learn how to live; empowering them to become men and women of integrity and men and women for others.
We are so lucky to have them as one of our Lasallian family members and their hospitality was incredible. We spent two days with the students and had some learning experience in different classrooms. Even the teachers were allowed to join one of their English lessons too. We found that they don't just help the Lasalle schools, but also other schools who are interested in visiting them.
St. Patrick's School is one of the Lasallian schools with the vision of nurturing Boys of Faith, Gentlemen with Purpose and Leaders with Heart, who are worthy of God and man. Once their students are admitted, they start their journey of being trained to be a gentleman. The school motto, He who Wills, Can! also gives us a message of having faith, not just in God, but also in ourselves that we can all make a difference. Their school values STRIVE are also inspiring.
Since there was an event in the school after 10:30am, our students could not stay there for long. However, the school still tried their very best to help our students understand their cultures. Their buddies toured them around the school, and so did the teachers. Though the time was short, we appreciate the time they contributed and the activities they planned for our students.
