Are you a brave person? Are you scared of "creepy" wildlife? Are you bored of seeing the ordinary animals like dogs and cats? Can you imagine that you got a chance to have a close encounter with exotic animals? Literally talking about touching them without the barricade like fence or thick glass. This year, we invited Jurrasic Garage to come to our school and give students a brief introduction about wildlife. Later, students were lining up to touch and even hold the animals. Some braver students even let the students crawl on their body!
Young people thought that keeping a pet was an easy task. They would not know how much responsibility they needed to have before making the decision of having one. This time, English department took a group of S3 students to pay a visit at the SPCA (The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). This trip was not just to let students learn about the job in the animal shelter, but to let students understand what animals would face if we abandoned them. Not all abandoned pets were lucky enough to be adopted. In addition to learning English, we believe students also learn a good lesson about pets.
The wind was breezy and the weather was really nice. Why don't we let the students enjoy the nature and learn more about the environment in English?
Many students came to the temporary coffee corner to place their order in English at lunch break. There were so many "customers" that student baristas had to ask the students to come back for their coffee after school. It was a really wonderful time for students to get a "taste" of the joyful moment.
