A whole bunch of students got to the new English corner and enjoyed a wonderful time of decorating their own gingerbread man! Thanks to Ms Wong KL and Ms Chan WS who helped organised the whole activities and let students had a wonderful moment before Christmas!
Christmas is quickly approaching. It was our honour that Brother Dennis came to visit us and gave us an inspiring morning speech. He even brought some books to share with our students! Thanks a lot, Brother!
English Environment Development Team seized the chance and let students express their creativity. Students and teachers sat together and they had lots of fun! Thanks to Mr Chan CS, the coordinator and Ms Chan WS.
The Lion Dance team was helping with the morning assembly sharing. It was a great surprise that they even took out the "Dragon" and demonstrated how it was used to celebrate in different traditional Chinese occasions. Thanks Mr. Yau KH and his wonderful lion dancers for the sharing!
The English Environment Promotion Team (Mr Chan CS and Mr Kong HW) organised a tic-tac-toe English game. Students needed to throw three balls to different pictures to create a straight line horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Students were required to read the names of the sports they had thrown at. Bonus points were given to those difficult words. Once they succeeded, small gifts were given to them. They had lots of fun and many students participated in this game.
Thanks the team for the help!
English Club held a workshop about how to write English words in cursive style. Students who hadn't learnt cursive style before came to join us and learnt this beautiful calligraphy.
The English Summer Programme has come to an end. Students rounded up their learning by giving all the guests various performances. After the contribution of the effort and time, students gained a lot, not just the English words they need to know, or those 20 books they need to read, but the friendship and valuable experience. Rock on students!
In this hot summer, some of you may stay home and enjoy the cool air conditioning, while some of you are putting your effort in improving your English. Thanks for the help from the English WeCan (under Project WeCan). A group of 10 students attended an English summer programme at the CUHK during summer holiday and experienced a different learning environment. During the time, they needed to read 20 story books.
Impressive!
On 9 Aug 2019, teachers were invited to visit one of their lessons. Look at how engaging they were!
Students were put into different groups and each group has an instructor who is a student at the CUHK. Unfortunately, students were so attentive that not many pictures could be taken. Let’s wait for the next time!
One of our students joined the Sino Junior Reporter Programme 2019 and got into the best-80 finale. Unfortunately, due to the unstable social movement at that moment, the awarding ceremony was cancelled in October 2019. But still we would like to take this opportunity to show our support and encouragement to our student Maggie!
