After taking Spanish I for about three years, I was incredibly excited to expand my vocabulary and understanding of the language I've come to enjoy. Compared to previous Spanish classes, this year was more immersive and allowed me the opportunity to start to write cohesive paragraphs. I believe that this has been the most impactful year in terms of my understanding of the language, which is in large part due to the many projects I was able to create. I continue to look forward to enhancing my knowledge in the Spanish language in the years ahead.
Physics
Although there were no projects in this class, there was plenty of exploration and learning. I can confidently say that this class challenged me in a way that no other has while still maintaining my pure fascination with the subject matter. Physics wasn't something that I resented despite my original outlook before the class began. Rather, it was something I look forward to. It is one of those classes that will never cease to be useful going forward. Now, when I see a rainbow, I'll never forget how it came to exist.
What started with an overview of nutrition ended with a fake, sporadically crying baby as my sleeping buddy. Taking a deep dive into the topics of macros and vitamins, marriage and life planning, parenting styles, healthy relationships, and contraceptives provided me with crucial information that I can utilize for the rest of my life.
This class was my first step into using math for "true" problem-solving. With a heavy focus on graphing, I was able to grow an understanding of where math and equations fit into everyday life. Not only do I feel ready for Calculus, I'm excited for the challenge.
I you were to ask me at the beginning of this class how I felt about it, I would've told you that it was simply daunting. In my eyes, history had never been my strong suit. However, after this year, I figured out that I had been looking at it wrong this entire time. History isn't about the exact timeline or list of facts and names. History is stories made up of characters that were all born as clueless human beings, just like me. By looking at history through a more "human oriented" lens, my understanding grew as I never imagined it could.
